My mother was born December 2, 1937, to George and Bernice Dobesh in Springfield, South Dakota.
She graduated from Sturgis High School in Sturgis, South Dakota.
She married Dortho Dixon Darnell in 1960. Dortho was born
November 29, 1931 to Dixon and Mabel (Mercer) Darnell
in Plainview, Arkansas.
To this union 2 daughters were born; Deborah Jane on January 12, 1961 in
Phoenix, Arizona and Donna Lynn on April 14, 1962 in Sturgis,
South Dakota. Janet and Dortho were later divorced.
Janet married Richard James Septka on October 8, 1969, in Sturgis, South
Dakota. Richard was born to Ernest B. and Hazel Pearl (Crockford) Septka
on November 1, 1928 in Sturgis, South Dakota.
Janet and Richard owned Septka's Greenhouses, Nursery and
Florist in Sturgis, South Dakota for over 10 years.
Janet passed away on November 12, 1981, in the Sturgis
Hospital of Cancer. She is now buried in the Black
Hills National Cemetary near Sturgis, South Dakota.
